Creation Story Day #5

March 3rd-6th State Wrestling

From last Wednesday to Saturday we were with 25,000 other people watching wrestling at the Xcel Center. We saw some amazing moves and incredible kids from our section go on to be champions. Tanner got to warm up our state entrant but he was unable to make it past the 1st round getting pinned right away. So baseball starts on March 22ND, Tabor is still healing the elbow. Dalton wrestles for the NYWA District Qualifier in Springfield on Saturday.

a big fat whine

We are moving so slow. We have had so many hang ups this year and I feel like a sloth when it comes to school. Our system right now isn't working, we are moving at a snails pace and I don't ever feel prepared for the school day.

We need to put a few new things in place. But I am just not sure how. I have ideas. But I hesitate to spend any cash on them becuase I am afraid they will not work. The Man's schedule is beyond confusing this month as he has training, so his weekends are all messed up becuase he has to be on someone elses schedule. So THAT isn't even consistant. And then we got hit with this stinking cold... which I am still dealing with. And now Don has been home from work on the messed up days he should be working. UGH! I know some months are like this... but I have felt that this whole year!! has been like this. The move last summer, then we started to settle, harvest season, then we started to recover from that, the shooting, then the shooting, then the shootings again. Then we started to get settled and then ANOTHER shooting. Now the trainings, and meetings, and gardening. I don't know when to catch up. I am really feeling like an overwhelming failure this year. My kids are learning, and progressing... but it is so slow. And most of it has nothing to do with me. I barely have time to review the lessons before I slap it to them to do it. Ugh. That is all. Just a big fat whine.

Creation day 4

We got sidetracked, so it has taken us a while to finish this block... but we are back on it now.

Live, Love, Learn

About a year ago hubby's work changed to 4 /10 hour days instead of the typical 5 day work week. For the most part we have LOVED it. It's great having a 3 day weekend EVERY week! When the kids are in school it's like a whole day we get to spend together on a date. First we go to the gym, then we do our Sister Savings/coupon shopping at Wal-Mart. We frequently go to lunch or to the temple together. It's awesome.

There is just one little issue we've(more like I've) had to deal with.....Hubby is the cook. Has been from the beginning. The work schedule change meant we weren't able to eat dinner tell around 7pm. I pretty much need to eat around 5 or I'm cranky. Not only that but- I DON"T COOK!!! So, here's what we came up with.

Each person in the fam takes a night for dinner-hubby has to take weekends due to his schedule. That means my 4 children are getting to each cook dinner 1 day a week. So far it has worked out amazingly well! I get to eat around 5 AND I only have to cook 1 night a week:)

twin 1-pancakes, grilled hot dogs and corn on the cob
twin 2-waffles, mac n cheese, scrambled eggs
me-sweet n sour chicken, chicken squares, chicken noodle soup (home-made even), nachos

Yay for opportunities to learn and improve!

NPS headed to state wrestling

The boyz finished up wrestling at section 4A yesterday in St. James. We had 5 Raider wrestlers place! Tanner placed 6Th at the 112lbs bracket and will be traveling to State to help his teammate Jaydon who took 1st in sections at the 103lbs class. Dalton will continue to practice as well with NYWA section wrestling coming up on Saturday March 12Th. Now we are off to the lake to get a little fishing in!
