Botany ~ Leaves and stems

This is our leaves and stems experiment. We put 4 test tubes together and took two pieces of fresh celery in, with stalks cut down the middle. Already, the leaves are taking on the colors in the tubes way better than the flowers ever did. That shows that flowers are meant for the short term, and leaves for the longer term. The priority and efficiency of the plant is very clear.

More on the botany front. Cyan's apple seeds now have 6 leaves a piece (4 real leaves) and are about 4 inches tall. Our egg shell herb garden is growing too big for it's shells and is being prepared to go into bigger pots and then outside. The tomato plant growing upside down is starting to try to go up... as is the one in the pot on the ground. Measurement is harder with the angle, but we are trying. Maybe my sewing tape measure?
